Wednesdays are exhausting. Passing out while listening to Joe Hill’s 20th Century Ghosts audio book.

tiny little turn ons:

   - people leaning against walls with one shoulder while they talk

   - catching somebody turning away smiling at a joke you made

   - people who linger on a hug for just a second after you let go

   - somebody glancing at your lips while you’re talking

I didn’t find this scary as a VERY religious 13 year old either.

It is. I think it’s kind of overrated. The cinematography is mediocre at best, there’s nothing remotely interesting done in terms of camera work. The plot is neat, but doesn’t translate very well to film because you can’t fit it all in a movie. Aesthetically, it’s very flat, it’s slow, it’s boring. If you’re not religious or can’t immerse yourself in a world where demons exist, it’s not very scary either.

In my opinion, the only thing the movie has going for it is the lighting, the practical/makeup effects and sometimes a scary face pops out. Sadly not enough to carry the film.
